The Azorean Archipelago has three golf courses: two in São Miguel and one in Terceira.
Thanks to its unique weather conditions, you can play a round under mild temperatures all year long surrounded by lush vegetation.
Courses are open to players of all levels, with specific areas, according to each player’s level. If you are a beginner or want to learn a bit more, there are academies ready to help you.
If you are looking for a different experience, try pasture golf, a type of golf with similar rules but with the label of pure fun where swings are shown to the locals among pastures and rural fields.
Golf in São Miguel
The island of São Miguel invites you to enjoy its two international-level golf courses: Batalha and Furnas.
Although you can bring your own, both golf courses have equipment available for rental, as well as a golf academy, a shop, a bar, and a restaurant.
Golf can be played among arum lilies, hydrangeas, and cedars on rounds adapted to different levels of preference.
Golf in Terceira
Terceira Island has a single golf course, but it is where the golfing spirit is more vivid on the locals.
Terceira Golf Club inherited the course built by the Americans for the recreation of the military personnel stationed at the Lajes Air Base. Subsequent changes to the design created a stimulating course, where you can also enjoy a clubhouse with a restaurant, a bar, and a pro-shop.
