Today we celebrate the 40th anniversary of São Jorge’s Aerodrome. Inaugurated on April 23, 1983, this aerodrome is one of the most important infrastructures on the island and is under the management of SATA Gestão de Aeródromos.

The first plane to land at the São Jorge Aerodrome was SATA’s CS-TAH, on April 20, which carried the team of technicians who came to certify the new infrastructure. Three days later, the CS-TAG landed for its inaugural flight by Captain Tércio Freire and First Officer Adelino Dias.
