Today is World Pregnancy Day

World Pregnancy Day is celebrated annually on September 9, the ninth month of the year, in reference to the nine months of pregnancy.

On this day, we give you some suggestions for a pleasant flight with us during pregnancy.

. See your obstetrician before traveling;

. Book a seat in the aisle so that you can easily go to the restroom when necessary or to be able to walk a few times in the aisle during the flight;

. If you wish, do some exercises with simple movements to promote good blood circulation, extending and stretching your legs, rotating your ankles and wiggling your toes;

. Be prepared with some extra clothing, so you can adjust to the cabin temperature;

. Hydrate, as the air inside the cabin can be quite dry;

. Avoid tight shoes, as your feet may swell a little during the flight;

. Consider wearing compression tights to ease blood circulation;

. Place the seatbelt in the pelvic area, under the abdomen. If necessary, request a seatbelt extension to our crew for extra comfort.

Also consider the rules from 28 weeks of pregnancy:

From 28 to 36 weeks
You must bring a medical certificate (MEDIF), attesting current pregnancy weeks, the absence of complications and expected delivery date.

More than 36 weeks
You may be accepted provided that you bring a medical certificate (MEDIF) in triplicate, issued within the period of 7 days before the start of the trip, including information on current pregnancy weeks, pregnancy evolution and expected delivery date. You must also sign the statement of responsibility contained in this medical certificate.

Expected delivey date within the next 7 days
You may only be accepted in urgent and duly justified cases and when presenting a medical certificate (MEDIF) in triplicate, issued within the period of 7 days before the start of the trip, including information on current pregnancy weeks, pregnancy evolution and expected delivery date. Please don’t forget to sign the declaration of responsibility contained in this certificate. You must also travel with a medically qualified companion (qualified midwife or doctor).

We hope our suggestions will help you to enjoy a relaxed and comfortable flight with us!
