Azores Airlines’ Airbus A321 LR touched the Lajes Airport runway at Terceira Island at 8:54 pm.
During the approximately five-hour flight, the flight crew offered some treats that symbolically marked the inaugural flight. Among the surprises, passengers received a Dona Amélia, a sweet cheesecake typical of Terceira Island, which came with a Blackberry Liqueur, all presented in a themed box alluding to the destination. During the flight, the crew also distributed a certificate of presence on this flight which has a special role as it is the first of a set of direct connections.
Upon arrival at Lajes Airport, the airline got greeted with water jets, a traditional welcome gesture in aviation.
After disembarking, passengers were welcomed by a delegation, having the opportunity to toast the beginning of the connection.
The air operation now started will last until September 14, with the offer of a weekly connection on Wednesdays. Don’t miss the opportunity! Fly with us!
