The Azores are, and always have been, our home. They are part of our identity and, even today, they assume an essential role among our destinations. Therefore, we wanted to take it to the next level, proposing a new approach to our passengers: that they live the Azores in all its experience, feeling as an Azorean, contacting directly with nature, living local traditions.
Our teams worked for many months – alongside the Azores Promotion Board and an outsourced agency that helped to get an outside view of the destination – to make it possible for SATA Azores Airlines passengers to buy a pack with flights, stay, and two local experiences, of their choice, through a direct link at www.azoresairlines.pt.
The suggested local activities include, in this initial phase of the project, milking cows on Terceira Island, taking part in the tea harvest on São Miguel Island, and making local pastries on Ilha Graciosa.
These genuine local experiences are made known by three people who make us absorb when telling their traditions and their stories with such pride the unique sense of belonging felt in these islands. José, Agricultural Entrepreneur on Terceira Island, Carla, Manufacturing Operator on São Miguel Island and Maria de Fátima, Pastry Chef on Graciosa Island, are the Azoreans of body and soul that gave life to this campaign.
It was a fully azorean production.
The launch of the “Viver os Açores” campaign at this very unusual time in the world of travel intends to help our passengers to make their dreams come true, to help them envision the future, and to encourage them to prepare their next trip with anticipation. It’s an invitation to discover the Azores!
Keep an eye out. More details on local experiences will be told here on the blog.
